You may have noticed that I changed my blog header. I figured it was about time that I be less narcissistic and use other people's pictures in the header. If you look close enough, you might just spot yourself in one or two of the pictures. I tried my best to not cover up people's faces so hopefully, no one's face is covered. Hopefully, no one minds that their faces are plastered at the top of my blog for everyone to see. I was very careful though about how big the faces were. They're big enough so that you recognise that you're in them, but not too big that people who don't know you can recognise you from them - gosh I hope THAT made sense. Why the change? I just watched this movie "The Man From Earth". I've been meaning to watch it for a while but my Internet connection kept knocking off and it was just frustrating, so I tromped across the street to my school's library and watched it, utilizing the school's more efficient Internet connection. The whole thing was filmed in a living room but what kept the plot moving were the discussions in the movie. I think it was awesome. Basically the whole movie consists of a room full of college professors from a myriad of expertise, coming together to bid their colleague John Oldman, adieu. John then sets a hypothetical situation, 'what if a caveman survived till this day?' and they discuss the plausibilities of the scenario. Yesterday was brill. Lab was cuckoo where we were pretty much making complete fools of ourselves and having fun while we're at it. Yas, Jessic and Fel made like fainting goats- you know the trust game where you fall backwards and your partner would catch you... that was the theme of the lab. It was so hilarious! There were loads of funny parts especially with the cheerleaders saying- "you don't have to respect me... you don't even have to remember my name!". Yesterday was nice. I got to hang out with Mary Anne, a friend I had gained during my MOELC days. We both took French together and she has been my friend for ages. We watched "The Unborn" and I must say that it was unexpectedly good. Brilliant even. The general public- me especially has a fascination of twins and mirrors and this movie played on those two factors hence, making it especially effective. I am a big fan of horror movies in particular, simply because I grew up on R.L Stine. I must say that "The Unborn" kicked "The Grudge's" butt- the English version. I so can't wait for "Friday the 13th" to be released. It was particularly humorous because Mary Anne kept covering her eyes in the scary bits so, I guess you could say that I was the rude person in the movie theatre who kept breaking out in giggles while the "scary" bits were on. I just watched "Awake" and I have to start off this post by saying that Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba are two of the most beautiful people ever! Second, The movie "Awake" was the only movie that had me crying from start to finish- and its very hard to get me to cry at a movie. It was dramatic, there was no action at all but the plot just kept you guessing. I have a new favorite movie. It has always been a movie that I wanted to watch just because of the fact that it involves a phenomenon that I had always been curious of, "anesthetic awareness", which is when during an operation, somehow, the patient doesn't loose consiousness. He stays awake to feel every incision, every cut and every tug at his tissues. He can feel the pain of the operation but is completely paralised. I know I havent written in ages and so much has happened.- Okay, not that much, but I get the feeling this is going to be a crammed blog entry. I had a Birthday- February 23. It was a bummer that it was on a Monday, but that was okay because there was no school. I didn't really celebrate because I already had my big bash when I turned 18- its a Filipino thing, here, the big bashes are on the 21st birthday. I had 2 really hard exam papers- For Retail, I wrote a whole lot of bull shit on my paper. The last question was so abstract! For PMic, I was so not able to finish the last question and it was worth- gulp, 20 marks! What kind of evil person puts the question with the highest weightage on the last page?! I so hope I pass all of my papers! We celebrated the end of 2.2 The gang, went for buffet and a movie. The food was so so and I ate myself into sickness. Watched twilight yesterday and was disapointed, got drunk and rode a motorcycle. Imagine, me, past midnight careening down the street at mindblowing speeds, half drunk and hanging on as a pinion rider without a helmet. I thought to myself, " I don't mind dying this way!" because, yes it was that fast and so much fun. Whoots! The only downside was the fact that someone had the cheek to ... erm grab me in a headlock and... give me a smack on the lips. Well it was weird and awkward! Majorly! The guy was practically like a bro to me. Sigh.

I just watched Babylon AD and well... here are my preconceptions: 1. Vin Diesel is kinda cool... remember xxx? 2. The movie must have a really interesting plot since its named after a biblical place 3. It's an action and sci-fi film Here's what I thought when we got out of the movie theatre: 1. Vin Diesel's cool appeal has diminished 2. Michelle Yeoh is cooler that I initially thought 3. The character Aurora looks like a freaking real life Brats doll 4. It was action... the film looked spectacular (stunt wise etc.) 5. But It just did not make that much sense to me... the plot was...how should I put it...BAD! Here's the down low... The movie started out fine... of course in a movie you expect to understand more of it as you go along with the plot but NO! Overall, the film was a disapointment. I should have real the reviews first.

It's been a really hectic week, tying up loose ends, finishing reports and trying to absorb as much knowledge as we can before study week starts. I can't believe the holidays are almost here! There's a term test on Monday and The Exams start on Friday! I can bot believe how fast this term has gone by. I feel as if I barely even know my classmates and that I haven't learned much. It's really strange that term 2.2 is starting! There will be that long and much anticipated break of doing nothing but lazing around! Yay! It's a pity though, that I won't get to go back to the Philippines. Anyways, I just watched 2 movies, "Wall-E" and "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging" and they are really my type of movies. Yesterday, my cousin, after much deliberation an cajoling (by me of course) finally decided to accompany me to watch "The Golden Compass" and well... here's what I think. I think I need to read the book. hehehehe No really. It was pretty good. The whole look of the movie was spectacular and the concept was pretty cool. It was interesting to see a world of people with their souls living alongside them as animals. I however I have one negative comment... the story was incomplete and basically the audience was left wondering how things are going to get wrapped up. In other words... bitin. Anyways... C'est une joli garcon qui je missera. Okay that was in broken french which if you can understand then fine. If not then its for me to know...hehehehe and you not to find out. Okay... that was so random. On to other things: Tommorow's the start of the term tests. The day's been okay I guess, today we were supposed to wear stripey tops, just some sort of class thing. It wasn't really my idea but I passed the message around. Seems like they're (they being the school staff) have decided to put in certain measures just to get us (the students) to be more "disciplined". I think its mainly to do with the whole level not doing as well as last years' batch of students in the term test before the holidays. They've decided to give us more pop quizzes , more assignments and be more strict in general. There were plenty of groans from the cohort after this was announced but I'm not really that sad about it. I think I'm one of those people who like being pushed to better myself. Its kind of unfortunate though, I've discovered that I've just failed one subject, Biochemistry (16 out of 50! Horrible!). Typically, that's the subject I hate the most! Sigh. Hopefully I do well for the other subjects. We're goin...

Today, erm... well actually since its morning, it was yesterday. Anyway, back to the topic at hand! I was with my cousin Nica and well, we agreed the day before to just go out and watch Ocean's Thirteen. So we did. I woke up quite late, say around 2.30 pm. I ate whatever Nica cooked and well, we checked online on the movie timings. There was a showing at 4.00 pm so we got ready, showers and everything. We left the house at around 3.15 and got to the cinema just in time to get tickets and buy popcorn - no movie would be right without popcorn! The movie was awesome but well, the rest of the audience dampened our moods. They didn't get the jokes!
