Laughter is the Best Medicine?

Two awesome things happened today! I got pretty decent marks for the PIA quiz but....

The "highlight" of my day was the P Mic interview.

Why? Because it was strangely surreal. Just imagine, five, year-two students in a little room with Dr AL. Everyone STARTED OFF fairly tense.

The first questions were asked by Dr AL and there were a few nervous smiles and giggles. Dr AL actually said the words "answer or die" to S.

After the first round of questioning it was S once again who was the victim. She kept forgetting the question and in mid sentence said "huh?" mouth hanging open at AL. AL found this terribly funny and tried to suppress a smile. AL tried to repeat his question but....

Apparently he had very little self control because a few moments later, his smile broke into melodious laughter. Seeing this, the other victims, myself, Fel, Nick and J lost our composure as well.

To put it simply, the tiny space was filled with a cacophony of guffaws. With tears in my eyes, I turned away from my group mates to TRY and regain my self control. Eventually, the uproar bubbled down to just a few giggles and AL tried to resume questioning.

He repeated his question and covered his face with his notes. Seeing his body shake from the effort of suppressing his giggles, we all broke into laughter again. We were all basically laughing at each other!- so much so that AL said that we had to take a 5 minute break to regain control of our funny bones. He left the room. He was actually tearing up! It was EPIC!

I was so freaking surprised! No one has seen this side of AL! AL always suppresses his smiles- so often that I think it could be affecting his health! A glimpse of his crooked grin was so rare that people talk about it when they witness one. To see him actually vibrate with laughter was such a weird and wonderful sight. I so wish I had a video of that.

The tension was obviously broken but it quickly resumed when he entered the room. That was when the execution began... and what a glorious execution it was. Each member of the team had a brief moment of hope after it all came crashing down.

With a calm demeanor, he fired off questions which few were able to answer correctly. If someone got the answer wrong, they had missed it by a mile. If someone got the answer correct, it was just barely right.

No one got a perfect mark and the whole interview's worth 10% of the total grade. Pooh! The interview was like... the weirdest poly experience ever!
